Welcome to the Web Site of the Greater Towson
    Council of Community Associations

    Who we are

The Greater Towson Council of Community Associations (GTCCA) is a nonprofit
umbrella organization representing the interests and concerns of more than thirty
community associations in the Greater Towson area.  We are organized for the
purpose of education, assistance in development, and as a means of presenting
a united front on common issues or problems too large or too complex to be
handled effectively by individual community associations.
New Location for GTCCA Meetings!

As of February 2010, the monthly business meetings of the GTCCA are held at the
Pickersgill Retirement Community on Chestnut Avenue in West Towson, on the third
Thursday of the month (except July and December) at 7:30 p.m.  Meetings are open to
GTCCA members and invited guests.  In inclement weather, the GTTCA follows the
school-closing procedure of Baltimore County Schools.  Check their web site at

www.
bcps.org.

If you believe that your Neighborhood Association in the Greater Towson area may not be
represented, please contact
Linda Galati, GTCCA Secretary, to determine if your
community association is a member.

    What's New?

  • The GTCCA will host a County Executive Candidates Forum on Wednesday, June
2, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Merrick Auditorium at Goucher College.  The forum will be
moderated by Fraser Smith of WYPR, and WYPR will serve as media sponsor for
the event.  The forum is open to the public but an RSVP is required.  E-mail
    info@gtcca.org.

  • We were sad to learn of the passing of our long-time friend and colleague, Betsy
Kahl, who died on February 8, 2010.  Betsy had a decades-long history of
community activism, starting with her fight against the closing of Towson
Elementary School in the 1970s and continuing until her death as an avid
defender of the Burkleigh Square community.  She served as President of the
GTCCA in the 1990s and as Vice-President in 2006.  Betsy was a dear friend to
many of us and we will miss her kind and gentle spirit.  To read a touching tribute
    to Betsy, please click here.

  • The GTCCA held its annual elections at the December meeting.  The following
    officers were elected/re-elected:
  • Ed Kilcullen, President
  • John Simms, Vice President
  • Josh Glikin, Vice President
  • Peggy Squitieri, Treasurer
  • Linda Galati, Secretary
