Development
The Greater Towson Council of Community Associations reviews development proposals
and advocates on behalf of our members to ensure that proposed developments enhance
and do not detract from the quality of life in Towson.  Below is a  list of the key development
projects in Towson.  (January, 2010)

Recently Completed:

York Road & Lambourne Road
380 luxury rental apartments.  

Towsontown Center (www.towsontowncenter.com/html/mallinfo.asp)
Dulaney Valley Road & Goucher Boulevard
Expansion of mall includes expanded Crate & Barrel and the addition of a Pottery Barn,
Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang, etc.

The Quarter (www.lifeatthequarter.com)
Dulaney Valley Road & Fairmount Avenue
Originally planned as 900 units of rental apartments and condominiums.  Approximately half
of the units have been built as of March, 2009 but condo units have not sold, so units are
now all rentals.  Remainder of units to be built are on hold.  

Under construction:

The Palisades of Towson (www.palisadestowson.com)
Washington Avenue & W. Susquehanna Avenue
370 luxury rental apartments in a 18-story building.

In planning stages:

Towson Manor
A new development planned for a 10-acre site within the Towson Manor Village community,
roughly bordered by E. Burke Avenue on the south, York Road on the west, E.
Susquehanna Avenue on the north and Wilden Drive on the east.  
Revised plans to include a 90 bed assisted living facility and 120 townhouses and duplexes
were introduced in fall 2009.  Currently going through the County's development review

Projects on hold

The Residences at 29 West
Towsontown Boulevard & W. Susquehanna Avenue
140-150 luxury rental apartments or condominiums (depending on market) in a 18-story
building.  

Towson Circle III
Site bounded by Joppa Road on north, Virginia Avenue on east, Pennsylvania Avenue on
south, and Delaware Avenue on west.
 
Plans include multiplex movie theatre, restaurants, retail, office space and parking garage.

Towson Commons
York Road, between W. Pennsylvania Avenue and W. Chesapeake Avenue
Redevelopment of existing retail space and movie theatre, in conceptual stage.  May include
a hotel and an upscale gym.
