The Greater Towson Council of
Community Associations
Zoning

The Greater Towson Council of Community Associations is particularly concerned about
zoning issues that impact our communities.  This includes proposed zoning changes
requested during the quadrennial Comprehensive Zoning Map Process as well as
applications for variances to zoning regulations that go before the Baltimore County Zoning
Commissioner and the Court of Appeals.  On this page we will post announcements about
upcoming zoning hearings as well as outcomes of past zoning hearings.

Past Zoning Decisions

115 E. Burke Avenue - On October 2, 2009, the Baltimore County Zoning Commissioner
denied the property owner's request for a rooming/boardinghouse permit.

15 Aigburth Road (Case # 8-118-SPHA) - On February 8, 2008, the Zoning Commissioner for
Baltimore County granted the property owner's request to convert a doctor's office in a home
with two apartments into a third apartment.  Built as a single-family home, the house had
been converted into a doctor's office and two apartments in 1973.  The immediate neighbors
opposed the request to convert the doctor's office into a third apartment.  This position was
supported by the Aigburth Manor Association of Towson, Inc., the Greater Towson Council of
Community Associations and several neighboring community associations.  To review the

Pending Zoning Decisions

16 Skidmore Court - Hearing held on March 4, 2010 before Zoning Commissioner William
Wiseman, III.  Property owner is seeking non-conforming use to continue operating as a
rooming/boardinghouse, claiming the Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) was formed prior
to effective date of Council Bill 17-09, which increased the percentages of ownership
required of each member of the LLC.
