Nearly 200 residents protest proposed Royal Farms at busy Towson intersection | WBFF

TOWSON, Md. (WBFF) – Nearly 200 residents turned out to voice their concerns about a proposed Royal Farms store at a busy intersection in Towson.

The county council has given its approval to the project at York Road and Bosley Avenue, which area residents call Towson Gateway.

Attorneys for Caves Valley Partners, the Towson-based developers, explained details of the project to citizens during a meeting Monday evening.

Attorney Christopher Mudd says plans for 16 gas pumps have been reduced to 12 pumps. But some residents say the proposed project will still cause extra congestion.

Angela Dean, who attended the meeting, said: “There’s such issues at Bosley and Joppa Road, as well as York and Bosley, and with a gas station there, it’s going to back up traffic.”

Caves Valley Partners Attorney Christopher Mudd told the crowd: “We understand that a lot of folks here feel differently about it, but we think we’ve out together a design that’s cohesive, between the Royal Farms and the retail that’s behind it.”
